Brother Printer Problems

Brother Industries, Ltd is a Japanese company that produces printers a wide range of laser, label, multifunction, and inkjet printers, in addition to other computer-related electronics. They are renowned for delivering cost effective printers that have fast print speed.
Problems with Brother printers include: unreliability, short life, printing errors, and paper jams.

The ubiquitous paper jam is often caused by paper stuck mid way through the printer, which can be difficult to resolve without breaking the fuser.

Certain models produced by Brother have proved to be of lesser quality, with light, flimsy, and generally sub-standard hardware.

Brother printers can also be noisy, during operation and during the cooling phase. They can also take a long time to warm up and cause voltage to drop by substantial amounts. As with many laser printers, toner can be expensive and toner consumption is often high.

Brother laser printers are recommended for office environments where print is mostly text, rather than graphics. Curled and twisted output can sometimes be a fault of alignment problems when the paper is not automatically centered in the input tray. This can also cause the rollers to leave ugly marks, spots, and shadows on the paper.
